Story

What it is

  • An AI-powered civic engagement app concept to improve voting accessibility for underrepresented voters, especially first- and second-generation American citizens.
  • First- and second-generation Americans make up about 20% of eligible voters.
  • A practicum project commissioned by Google through USC IYA.

What I did

  • I led product design in a 2-week sprint, in a team of 5.
  • I ran user research and built a systems map of the voting journey.
  • I took low-fi concepts through iterations to high-fidelity Figma flows.
  • The flows include a Simplified and Detailed toggle on every article, AI cross-checks for neutrality, and comparisons with similar policies in the user's home country.

Result

  • I presented the flows to Josh Auffret, former Head of UX Programs and Operations at Google.
